The dollar is worth ₦565 naira today at the Lagos Parallel Market (Black Market), according to the current exchange rate. Players buy a dollar for ₦560 naira and sell a dollar for ₦565, according to the current exchange rate at Bureau De Change (BDC).

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize the black market (also known as the parallel market), and customers who want to trade foreign currencies should contact their local banks.

The exchange rate between the naira and the USD opened at ₦413.78/$ on 27th December 2021 and closed at ₦414.73/$1.

Nigerian trades on the Investors and Exporters Window (I&E), where official forex is sold, totaled $1.1 billion in value. This is according to data compiled by Nairalytics, Nairametrics’ research arm, on the FMDQOTC.

The CBN has been struggling to meet surging demand for forex by corporates rushing to meet year-end obligations, so trading values on the I&E window have increased in recent weeks.

When compared to the same period in 2020, official trades on the I&E window totaled $531 million dollars. Month to date in December 2021, a total of $3.9 billion has been sold, compared to $3.3 billion in November 2021.

The share price of Royal Exchange increased by 7.14 percent to N0.75kobo per share, up from N0.70kobo per share.

The share price of Mutual Benefit increased by 6.67 percent, from N0.30kobo to N0.32kobo per share.

Eterna gained N0.30kobo, increasing its share price from N5 to N5.30kobo.

Oando’s share price increased by N0.23kobo to N4.60kobo per share, up from N4.37kobo per share.

Julius Berger led the losers’ table, with its share price dropping from N24.80kobo to N22.35kobo per share after losing N2.45kobo in value.

After losing 5.60 percent of its value during trading, UPDC’s stock fell from N1.25kobo to N1.18kobo per share.

Sovereign Insurance’s share price fell 4% to N0.24kobo per share, down from N0.25kobo per share.

The share price of First Bank dropped N0.30kobo to N11.70kobo, down from N12 per share.

Honeywell Flour rounded out the top five after losing 1.43 percent of its value, dropping from N3.50kobo to N3.45kobo per share.

With 64.95 million shares worth N617.02 million, UACN topped the day’s trading.

Sovereign Insurance traded a total of N5.47 million for 23.31 million.

GTCO came in second with 21.14 million shares worth N549.56 million.

Unity Bank traded 7.97 million shares worth N3.77 million, while Jaiz Bank sold 14.94 million worth N9.57 million.
