7 FACTS MANY FARMERS DON’T KNOW

7 FACTS MANY FARMERS DON’T KNOW (Especially #4)

Ignorance, they say is no excuse. If you are in business, there are certain facts you must know to really get the best outcomes. Farmers today are getting increasingly shortchanged because they are operating in ignorance.

Below are seven facts that many farmers don’t know and they are paying heavily for this ignorance in losses and frustrations.

  1. Many Farmers Don’t Know That Farming Is a Business

I will keep coming to this fact again and again because it will make a huge positive difference if farmers can get this point. Those who take farming as a business enterprise always tend to succeed better and faster.

  1. Many Farmers Don’t Know That Production Is Only a Part Of Farming Business

Production is no doubt very important. But production is only a part of the process. Many farmers are starkly ignorant of this. Farmers are often traumatized when at the end of all the energy expended on production; they lose vital margins to middle men who know how to dispose off the farm products.

  1. Many Farmers Don’t Know That farming Is Like a Triangle

The point every farmer should know is this: Farming is like a triangle. The top point of the triangle represents the farm business owner. The first second angle base represents the farm manager. 1. Many Farmers Don’t Know That Farming Is a Team Project

I know a very successful farmer who told me the secret of his success. According to him, he partnered with the right experts from the beginning. This is the story of many rich farmers. Farming is a team project.

  1. Many Farmers Don’t Know That Proactivity Is The Rule Of The Game

What kills most farmers businesses is the fact that they keep dealing most with crises instead of preventing them. Farmers should know and work this frame of mind. The farmers who truly want to make it should embrace the truth that prevention is better and cheaper than cure fiercely.

  1. Many Farmers Don’t Know That Company Don’t Succeed, People Do

Smart farmers are always getting the best from their workers because they have the basic understanding that companies don’t succeed, people do. My message to farmers is that they should keep doing everything they can to work out things with their employees for better businesses and harmony. Many farmers don’t know that their workers are their internal customers which they must work with for more rewarding outcomes.
